Special decal offer

Ken Soroos has a special decal offer as a tribute to Bill Welch, a friend and inspiration to many prototype modelers. He is offering HO scale Tennessee Central decals for their composite gondolas and hoppers that were built in the 1920s.

Ken is offering these free to modelers providing a stamped, self-addressed envelope. The decal supply is limited and will not be rerun.
Ken's address and decal details are available in this PDF file. Please download the PDF file and follow the directions for the decals.

Klasing ratchet hand brakes
(HO scale)

This type of Klasing ratchet hand brake was used on many gondolas from the 1940s and into the 1960s. Many thanks to Gene Green for assisting with details to produce these parts. Also thanks to Patrick Hodina for creating the CAD files to print.

The parts are 3D prints from Shapeways, printed with the Smoothest Fine Detail Plastic material.

50 sets of Klasing ratchet hand brakes are $20.

Shapeways charges flat processing and shipping fees. Combining orders may not increase shipping costs.

Preco electric fans
(HO scale)

Preco fan plates are a common detail on reefers with ice bunkers. The hardware came into use on ART reefers in 1946. PFE began using them on new R-40-26 reefers in 1951. A tread on the car wheel transmitted power to an alternator that operated blowers under the floor racks near each end bulkhead.

Digital artwork was sized from prototype photos. Many thanks to Patrick Hodina for creating the CAD files to print.

The parts are 3D prints from Shapeways, printed with the Fine Ultimate Detail material otherwise known as FUD.

48 fan plates for $20.

These will help you detail 24 mechanical reefers. Shapeways charges flat processing and shipping fees. Combining orders may not increase shipping costs.
